Mark W. Schilling, J.D. - President

Mark W. Schilling

Mr. Schilling obtained undergraduate degrees in Business Administration and Political Science at Southern Methodist University (Dallas, Texas) in 1990 and a Juris Doctorate degree from The University of Tulsa College of Law in 1993.   Upon graduating, Mr. Schilling immediately began working as an attorney for one of the largest and most prestigious law firms in Oklahoma, now named Riggs, Abney, Neal, Turpen, Orbison & Lewis. He became one of the youngest shareholders of that firm in 1998 and remained in that position until resigning to start American Medical Risk Insurance Company in October, 2004.  Throughout his 11 years of legal practice, Mr. Schilling focused on the areas of labor and employment, insurance litigation, subrogation and medical malpractice.  His practice involved work for insurance companies, medical providers, and plaintiffs’ medical malpractice.  As a result of litigating on both sides of the medical malpractice field, and in between for the insurance industry, Mr. Schilling has a unique perspective of the problems facing these various parties and the primary causes of those problems.   It is this unique perspective that gave him the vision for Adverse Event Insurance.
